Homeownership programs are limited to repairs related to health and safety. Applications will be taken over the phone with the assistance of LHO offices.
What is the Fuel Tank Replacement Initiative?
The Fuel Tank Replacement initiative assists homeowners in covering the costs of replacing aging above ground fuel tanks that do not meet current standards or are in poor condition, through a one-time forgivable loan.
Who is eligible for the Fuel Tank Replacement Initiative?
Applicants must be residents of the NWT for at least three years, have lived in their home for over a year, and be over 19 years old.
What funding is available?
A one-time forgivable loan of up to $10,000 is available.
- Applicants are expected to make a contribution toward the project cost; and,
- Contribution level will be based on the applicant’s income.
