Homelessness Assistance Fund applications will continue to be processed to ensure that residents who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless have an opportunity to access stable housing.  The NWTHC will continue to collaborate closely with GNWT Departments and stakeholders to ensure matters related to homelessness receive prompt attention.

What is the Homelessness Assistance Fund (HAF)?

The Homelessness Assistance Fund (HAF) provides one-time emergency funding to you if you are experiencing a housing-related crisis within the NWT, and as a result are at risk of becoming homeless.

This funding works in partnership with referral agents of community agencies to focus on providing you with practical assistance so you can work with them to solve your crisis, and it can also be used for travel assistance for a person to return to their home community, or another community, where they will no longer be homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.

Who is eligible for the Homelessness Assistance Fund (HAF)?

The Homelessness Assistance Fund Emergency funding support is available for youth and adults if you are facing homelessness to prevent you and your household from becoming homeless, or for assisting you or your household to find affordable and stable housing.
